Surfaces and the cells in our body

The human body is made up from an incredibly large number of very small living cells. These cells are a little bit like miniature soap bubbles.

There are lots of different types of cell in our bodies but one of the most common is the red blood cell. These cells really do make our blood red although they are much too small to be seen individually.

Red blood cells are shaped a bit like a donut. Try playing with the picture below to look at their shape.
