Popping in Physics

Popcorn kernals pop one-by-one. This is partly because some of them are on the bottom of the pan (and get hotter), but it's also because each kernal is different.

Here is our computer model, showing POPPING NOISE. Think of each square on the right as a kernal of popcorn: as it pops, it changes color.
