Pencils Snap!

Snapping Noise Experiment:

Listen carefully while you slowly bend a wood pencil until it breaks. (Don't hurt yourself!)

When we broke our pencils, we get a single loud SNAP. Sometimes there are a couple of tiny pops first, but mostly the pencil breaks suddenly, all at once.
