Many buttress dams are made of concrete -- less concrete than gravity dams. If you look at a buttress dam from the side, it looks alot like the triangle shape of a gravity dam. Can you trace a triangle on the dam using your mouse?

The back of the buttress dam is a solid wall, much like a gravity dam. But you can see that the front of the buttress dam is not a solid wall like the gravity dam. The buttress dam has many separate walls of concrete -- "buttresses" -- in the front holding up the solid wall in the back where the water is. *Can you trace the buttresses () on the dam using your mouse?**
