- GFLOPS

Stands for `billion (Giga) Floating-point Operations Per second'.
Usually pronounced and sometimes written as giga-flops.
It is used to measure the number of arithmetic operations that a computer
can perform in one second -- large supercomputers can
do many GFLOPS.
