Special features of "ising"
You may also want to look at the full parameter
list of all the buttons and sliders, or at one of the general help
files, Sliders, or Graphs.
Key equivalents
- run/stop; press the spacebar.
- init. Use the i-key or select an item from the
initial conditions menu.
Miscellaneous
- Spins may be manually flipped by clicking on them or by
slowly dragging the cursor across them.
This can be useful in designing your own initial conditions which may
then be stored and recalled
- Note that the temperature and magnetic field are expressed
NOT in kelvin and tesla, but in dimensionless units relative to
the nearest neighbor exchange energy J. This, of course, is the natural
language for the computer. Similarly, "ising" works with a normalized
magnetization, the ratio of the actual magnetization to its maximum
possible, or saturation value.
- The first point (at zero sweeps) on the graph will be whatever is
in memory when the reset button is clicked. If you care about
the first point on the graph, click reset AFTER you
set the initial conditions.
