What's a simulation?

Engineers (*) are people who solve problems so they can build something or make it better.

Sometimes engineers (*) use computers to do simulations of things they want to build or fix.

In a computer simulation, the computer takes the information the engineer gives it, processes or thinks about it, and produces some results.

The information the engineer gives it is a model (a computer drawing), any pushing or pulling on the structure (*), and if the structure is attached to other things.

The results the computer returns tell the engineer how their structure (*) might behave.
